Practical Information

We suggest these routes to us in Vernet les Bains.  See https://www.rome2rio.com/ which will give you the estimated time frames for driving and also schedules and time frames for buses and trains. Note: the buses are modern and very comfortable. Also, please note that in France trains are subject to strikes. Sometimes strikes are last minute but more often the public is alerted ahead of time. Personally we prefer the bus!

Arriving from the US

• Fly into Barcelona. 
•  Rent a car at the airport at a very reasonable cost and take a scenic 2 1/2 hour route to Vernet les Bains OR take a bus or train from Barcelona to Perpignan. 
• From Perpignan take a bus to Prades OR take an Uber OR for an additional cost we will pick you up in Perpignan which is one hour from Vernet les Bains.
•  From Prades you can take a bus to Vernet les Bains OR an Uber OR, schedule dependant, we can pick you up. 

Arriving from the UK

Fly  from London Stansted or Machester or East Midlands airports into the Carcassone airport, then rent a car for a two hour drive to Vernet les Bains.  OR take a bus two hours to Perpignan and from there see instructions above.

We have a number of shared occupancy accommodations so you can save on lodging expenses. Notify us when registering and we can discuss your options. 

In addition to daily workshops and individual session(s) with your instructor, the tuition fee includes lodging and all meals. Pick up from Perpignan is an additional cost.

With its bright blue skies and over 300 days a year of sunshine, Vernet is sheltered from harsh weather by the majestic Canigou mountains. 

Warm season starts in early May and continues into late September. October can be temperate with temperatures in the 70s.  Sunny skies in November and December often mean T shirt and cotton sweater days.  Summer temperatures can range in the high 80s.

Pack Light and Casual:  Jeans, cotton/linen pants and easy dresses, light down jacket for cooler evenings, sun hat,  sneakers or  comfortable shoes with rubber soles since Vernet has some steep cobblestone streets.

Comfortable, air-conditioned local buses can take you to nearby villages for one Euro.  You will appreciate having a car, though, for flexibility!  Car rentals at the Barcelona airport are very reasonably priced.

• 60 Days – Refund minus a $500 cancellation fee.

• In the event of Covid travel restrictions you will get a "rain check" on participation.
