While routes and flight deals can vary, the following itineraries have worked well for many visitors to this area.
Arriving from the US: Fly into Barcelona. Take a bus or train (each approx 2 and a half hours) to Perpignan, then a bus (40 minutes) for one Euro to Villefranche le Conflent and we will pick you up or right into Vernet les Bains. Or rent a car at the Barcelona airport and drive 2 and a half scenic hours to Vernet.
Arriving from the UK: Flying into Carcassone airport in the Aude region is a popular choice. Rent a car and drive 1 hour and 45 minutes to Vernet les Bains. Public transport from this airport is long.

In addition to daily workshops and individual session(s) with your instructor, the tuition fee includes lodging and meals.

With its bright blue skies and over 300 days a year of sunshine, Vernet is sheltered from harsh weather by the majestic Canigou mountains. While it's always best to consult your favorite online weather information source for the time of your visit, the following description gives a general sense of the weather in the area.
Warm season starts in April and continues into late September. Temperatures mount in summer to 80s-90s. Autumn is sunny with temperatures in the 70s. September can be warmer.
Pack Light: Pack jeans, cotton / linen pants, easy cotton dresses, cotton sweaters, shawl or wool blend sweater and light jacket for evenings, sneakers, comfortable shoes with rubber soles, sun hat.
Vernet is built along a river and on the hill, so make sure to pack comfortable walking shoes.
Comfortable, air-conditioned local buses can take you to nearby villages for one Euro. If you wish to go further afield you will enjoy having a car to visit some of the most beautiful villages in France that are within a half hour to an hour drive from Vernet.
