Explore the art of watercolors in an area known for its luminosity.
German-born, Cambridge-educated Beate Kubitz has exhibited widely in London, including at the popular Brick Lane Open Studios, and her mixed media installations have been featured at 118 1/2 Shoreditch High Street. She has regularly provided watercolor illustrations for outdoors magazines like Singletrack Worldwide, documenting landscapes from the snow forests of Germany to the red rocks of Utah.
Since moving to France, Beate's practice has been "reshaped by the magic of the Pyrenees," she says. "Watercolour is alchemy, It can catch the fleeting light haloing the mountains and the soft rays of a summer morning, turning simple paint into gold."
Under Beate's guidance you will create a story with your images, making every brushstroke count, fine tuning the interplay between layers of pigment, shapes and spaces . The result will illuminate your work and capture the essence of this magical part of France.
